A fascinating autobiographical account of the renovation of one of Gower's greatest properties - Fairyhill. Midge Frayne recounts, in a very personal and conversational style, how and why she bought the Fairyhill Estate and proceeded to transform it from its dilapidated condition into the area's top restaurant/guesthouse. Full of lavish detail and historical facts, the book is a great read for anyone with a love of Gower history or for those planning to start a business in the restaurant and/or guesthouse business. Very little is left to the imagination and there are some truly insightful moments concerning the character of Gower farmers, labourers, builders etc. as well as some loving titbits about some of the celebrity guest who have visited Fairyhill in the past. An obvious labour of love, "A Gower Stripper" is a delight to read and is recoomended by www.welcometogower.co.uk .
