Port Eynon Point Cave

Port Eynon Point Cave is situated seven metres above sea level and Port Eynon point (SS 4680 8435) and is accessible only at low to mid tides. The cave has a massive ten metre high by seven metre wide entrance which is best viewed from sea.

It is believed that the cave was once entirely sealed and that the sea broke through the outer rock shell to expose the inner cavern that is seen today.

Pleistocene animal remains discovered within the cave by excavators King, Moffat and Perkins were presented to Swansea Museum whilst later discoveries, in 1931/2 by Reverend Arnold Cook were presented to the British National History Museum .
