We were bombed out in the raids of Feb 19-21, 1941, while renting in Mrs. Lloyd's house in a cul-de-sac near the Swansea town centre, going to the Church Hall in the Mumbles after the third day where the vicar heard that my mother played the piano and persuaded her to play. She soon had everyone singing while temporary accommodation was found for the ten of us in local homes for several days until we were able to rent a house from two women (who were not told about the three children under eleven!).
